Spring is here...

Spring has arrived, and with it, lots of exciting developments in the world of indoor tanning!

A FDA Advisory Panel convened in March to assess the risk of indoor tanning lamps and make recommendations to the FDA. To read more about the Panel and recommendations made, visit this WebMD article.

Also, with the passage of the healthcare reform bill in March, a 10% tax on indoor tanning beds (using UV light) was passed. Spray-on tanning will not be taxed. Visit CNN Money.com for more information!

MaryAnn's Story

At the age of 24 I was diagnosed with an early level stage IV melanoma. It was a small mole that I had taken off on my left cheek. I had to go through two surgeries to remove the melanoma as well as all the lymph nodes out of the left side of my neck. I’ve also had another mole removed off my lower back because it was a stage I melanoma. I was told that the reason I had melanoma was because I went tanning in a tanning booth. I want people to know the dangers of tanning and the risks involved with over exposure to the sun.

Please, if you know anyone who is tanning or wants to tan, let them know that there are risks and to either please stop tanning or to never start.
